Miss Elkdom of the World Opportunity

The National Beauty and Talent Department transcends mere competition; it serves as the Elks' most distinguished platform for young ladies aged 16 to 20 to elevate, guide, motivate and inspire. For more than a hundred years, the Beauty & Talent Department has achieved recognition for its emphasis on style, service, awards, and sisterhood. This legacy continues today as we strive to empower young ladies throughout the nation to develop lifelong skills, realize their potential, and bring meaningful change within their communities.

Talent pageants represent one of the most challenging aspects of competition. From selecting the right talent to showcase to choosing the ideal outfit that highlights your skills, and pondering the question... how can you ascertain what the judges are looking for? There are many decisions and choices to make, which is why we aimed to provide a guide to assist you in preparing for this journey. The Talent Pageant showcases a diverse array of "talents" performed onstage during a pageant. These talents may include dancing, singing, poetry, playing an instrument, or virtually any other skill one can imagine.

The talent segment of a pageant offers a distinctive opportunity for self-expression that is unparalleled in any other aspect of the competition. It allows you to showcase your skills for 3 minutes to entertain and captivate the audience. This is the moment when you can demonstrate to the judges your ability to take something ordinary and transform it into extraordinary. One of the key objectives of the talent portion is to illustrate to the judges your ability to connect with others through entertainment. It is your opportunity to shine and to be completely in your element!

Each contestant will wear an Olympic-style swimwear of their choice and color, which is a one-piece garment designed for optimal streamlining and compression; however, it must be approved by the State you are representing.

Each contestant will wear a long formal gown of their choice and color that highlights her style and personality; however, it must also be approved by the State you are representing.

Most importantly, make your talent pageant a reflection of your individuality. Be distinctive. If you observe something on television that you wish to attempt, go ahead and try it. Always seek feedback from the State you are representing when choosing a talent; they will provide honest insights regarding whether your talent is suitable for the pageant.

If you are prepared to embrace this tradition that has lasted for more than a century, engage with an energetic network of passionate young women, and secure your place in the legacy of community service and sisterhood, we encourage you to explore into the talent pageant further and join us on this life-changing journey.
