ELKS CHOICE AWARDS LOYAL DAUGHTER RULER NOMINEES

  • Daughter June M.B. Jones

    Pacific States Association

    Loyal Daughter Ruler June M.B. Jones proudly serves her fourth term as Daughter Ruler of both the Hoover Dam Council and her Temple. A dedicated Charter Member, she was instrumental in the founding of Leviticus Temple and Paula Temple, leaving a legacy of leadership and faith. Her tireless service extends beyond the Council. She feeds the homeless every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at her church and personally delivers food boxes to seniors throughout the city. Under her guidance, the Council prepares care baskets, hosts sugar-free ice cream socials and bingo for seniors, organizes backpack drives, and holds Trunk or Treat events for local children.  In 2025, she was honored with a Lifetime Membership Award for 42 years of devoted service by the Grand Daughter Ruler.

  • PGDR Denise Richardson

    New Jersey State Association

    Loyal Daughter Ruler for over 11 years, Daughter Ruler for 34 years. She has leadership achievements. She has provided financial assistance to 50 families through the Adopt a Family program during Christmas.  She sponsored 25 youth in the Black Women’s History Program and supported 13 LD’s in the Council Queen Contest.

    She has been recognized and supported local community leaders by providing food for 132,000 families, as well as honored LD’s for their service and dedication. She is actively involved in the City Council’s budget and revitalization committee. She played a key role in ensuring that people of color received COVID tests and vaccines.  She is a mother of 5 beautiful daughters (including a set of twins) and Grandmother of 11 (including a set of twins).

  • Daughter Lynda Sloan

    North Carolina State Association

    Daughter Lynda K. Sloan joined Elkdom in 2014 through Piedmont Temple #224 in High Point, NC, serving three years as Recording Secretary with dedication and leadership. In her fourth year, she helped reorganize Rainbow Temple #1404 in Salisbury, NC, leading to its 2019 reinstatement with 23 new or reinstated daughters.   In 2022, Dr. William Murphy appointed her Directress of the North Carolina Medical Department, where she grew the team from 20 to 80 active members.  Committed to service, Daughter Sloan remains highly engaged in her community. Each August, she organizes a successful, inclusive event uniting all ages, reflecting her passion for unity and outreach. Her continued efforts exemplify leadership, dedication, and a deep commitment to Elkdom and community service.

  • PGDR Arleeta Terrell

    Louisiana State Association

    Arleeta Terrell is the Loyal Daughter Ruler of the Emma V. Kelley Council in New Orleans, Louisiana, and currently serves as the Grand Directress of the Shoe Bank Department. On June 21, 2025, she was re-elected Daughter State Treasurer of the LA State Association Daughter of Elks. Her journey in Elkdom began in 2012 when she was initiated into the Greater New Orleans C.Y.W. Temple #185 under the leadership of the late Past Daughter Ruler Evelyn H. Whitfield. She received her Past Grand Daughter Ruler Degree in Mobile, Alabama, in 2022. Arleeta has taken on many roles, including serving as Chaplain, Chairman of the Building Fund, Chairman of the Fundraising Committee in the Council, and the Financial Secretary in her Temple.
