Elks in the Community

Elks around the world are making a difference for humanity. Living our principles of Charity, Justice, and Fidelity, our members are aiding and assisting when it matters the most. From food bank drives, mask-making, Easter basket donations, to Senior care packages, and much more; we are making an impact.

Elks make a difference. We are one.

Charity

It is with a renewed focus that we perform more charity and community support to families across the Elks organization. It strengthens our bond with our local communities, and is a great way to get to know our communities and neighbors.

Scholarships

Annually, the IBPOEW Education Department awards $10,000 in scholarship money to the winner of its national Oratorical Contest.

There are eight regions who participate in the Oratorical Contest. Each region has a contestant participate at the local/state/regional/national levels. The winning contestant at the local level will move on to the state level. The winning contestant at the State level will receive a $1,500 scholarship and move onto the Regional level. The winning contestant will receive a $1,000 scholarship at the Regional level and move onto the National level. The winning contestant at the National level will receive a $7,500 scholarship for a total of $10,000. The $10,000 will be made payable directly to a college or university of the contestant’s choice.

Youth Organizations

As a dynamic and responsive organization, the Elks always respond to the needs of our communities. Now, more than ever, we recognize the need to provide contributions and volunteer to aid our distressed brothers and sisters, especially our future: the youth. We will continue to increase our focus on youth as we have an increase in death and violence of our children.
